Attendance
At St Lawrence School our aim is to ensure that all students have excellent attendance. Excellent attendance means a student never misses a day of school without a very good reason and the school has authorised the absence. Our aim is to work with students and their families to ensure excellent attendance for all.
There is wide agreement among health professionals and educational professionals that school attendance is vital to the life chances of children and young people. Being in school improves health, wellbeing and socialisation throughout the life course. The greatest benefits come from children and young people attending school regularly.

Attendance Procedures
The laws relating to fines for unauthorised absences to school changed on the 19th August 2024.
We will monitor attendance closely and when a child's attendance reaches the threshold of 6 unauthorised
absences in 6 weeks, or less, we will arrange a meeting with parents to discuss attendance and how we can
best support improved attendance.
Further information can be found in our attendance policy which can be found here
