EYFS - Sycamore Class - End of Year
Hello Sycamore Class parents
I can't believe we are approaching the end of our year together in Reception. The children have had a wonderful year, and we are so proud of everything they have achieved.
This half term Sycamore class have enjoyed exploring our theme 'Under the Sea'. We have listened to lots of stories, shared what we know about life under the sea and discussed ways we can look after our world. The children absolutely loved our trip to the seaside and had lots of fun at our first sports day!
PSED: Over the half term we have been developing our independence and celebrating our all great achievements.
Literacy: This half term we have been using our phonic and tricky word knowledge to write sentences independently. The children particularly enjoyed following the story 'Somebody Swallowed Stanley' and writing facts about sea creatures! We have been focusing on forming our letters correctly in our handwriting.
Phonics: In Sycamore Class we have been building our fluency and further developing our tricky word knowledge. We have focused on reading and writing words with adjacent clusters and chunking longer words. Please read at home every day.
Maths: This half term we have developed our number fluency. We have been learning our double facts and number bonds.
Thank you for all your support this year. We have enjoyed supporting your children and watching them grow. We hope you have a lovely summer with your families.
