Apple Class Update - Autumn 2
Hello!
I am always amazed at how quickly each half term goes by. We’ve loved our ‘Up, Up and Away’ learning theme this half term. In science and geography we’ve learnt lots about the weather and the seasons, and in history we have learnt about The Wright Brothers invention of the airplane.
Next half term, our learning theme will be ‘Moon Zoom’. The children will learn all about the first moon landings, and different significant astronauts.
Our science learning will be focused on materials and their properties, and we will be learning how to make rotating wheels using axels and axel holders in DT, when designing and building our own moon buggies.
Our writing focus will be non-fiction reports, sharing what we know about the 1969 moon landings. In maths, we will be focusing on addition and subtraction up to 20 as well as learning about shape, pattern, length and height.
I will be very sad to leave Apple Class at the end of this half term. It has been a joy to teach the class since September. They’ve made such amazing progress and are always so enthusiastic about our learning, as well as always showing kindness in everything that they do. Miss Kelly has spent time in our class these last few weeks, getting to know the children. She is really looking forward to teaching them in January.
I hope you all have a lovely Christmas break,
Miss Morrow
